Sts. Anne & Joachim Council # 11930

Sts. Anne and Joachim KC Council meeting was held in the St. Joseph’s Room at the Parish on November 5, 2007.  Mike Hardy called the meeting to order, led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag & led the opening prayer. A motion by Gordy Baumgartner was made to approve the October minutes and was seconded by Lee Mayer.  Motion carried.

Roll call of officers present:  Mike Hardy, Shawn Tennyson, Gordy Baumgartner, Robert Bennett, Pete Peters, Lee Mayer, Ron Ward, and Michael Bannach Officers absent:, Mike Linster, William Espe, Rich Olstad,, Jim Herrington, Jim Traynor, and Fr. Katanga.

District Deputy’s Report:  Tim McMullen – Upcoming 1st Degrees: at St Anne and Joachim’s on Thursday November 15th at 6:30, December 13th at St Anthony’s and January 17th at Blessed Sacrament in West Fargo. Reminder of 2nd and 3rd Degree exemplification in Wahpeton on December 16th.  Thank you to all Knights for helping out with 40 Days for Life.

Treasurer’s Report – Gordy Baumgartner:  Current Balance: Checking $4,768.91 Current Balance: Savings $17,308.18
- Reminder after breakfasts and magnet sales to double check the money counts for accuracy. 

Financial Secretary’s Report – Robert Bennet:  Members – 122 Associates, 67 Insurance, 6 inactive, 14 Honorary Life. We have sent out letters of intent to suspend to 13 members. Bills presented: $41 postage to Robert Bennet, $41 for postage to Mike Hardy, $34 for nametags and $119.50 for sausage. Total $235.50. Motion to accept: Pete Peters, seconded by Anthony Suda. Motion passed.

Trustee: Lee Mayer: Thanks to the guys who helped clean the kitchen.

Membership Committee – Ron Ward: We had 3 new members join in the recent drive: Jon Wanzek, Jeff Johnson, Matt Lachowitzer. We also had 2 1st degree members go through the 2nd and 3rd degree exemplification: Jim Herrington and Jeff Weigel. We will attempt to get the outstanding form 100’s in for the next degree work.

Youth – Greg McCormick has agreed to be the chairman. The Free Throw contest is set for January 5th. Gordy will meet with the Youth Director about the essay contest. Pete will help out with this as well. Deadline is February 15th.

Social Committee Report - Gordy Baumgartner: Nothing to report. Winner of the drawing was District Deputy Tim McMullen (again).

Newsletter & website – Anthony Suda: Plan on publishing this week. Ideas for content for the website are welcome. We’re going to pretty much start from scratch. Hope to have the new site up by the end of the month.

Program Directors Report – Shawn Tennyson:  Knight of the month: Robert Bennet. Motion carried.
November 19th. breakfast:  Bill Espe

Grand Knight’s Report – Placemats for breakfasts. Maybe ordering tablecloths with the order’s emblem on them. Tom Summerville suggested the quilting ladies could make some as long as the council bought materials.. Steve V asked the Knights to do dishes and clean up for the Fall Festival. Our new insurance agent is Pat Dolan. Talk about adding the minutes to the newsletter.
Old Business: Keep Christ in CHRISTmas campaign continuing and going well.
Note meeting date change for next month, December 10th.

Next meeting will be on Monday December 10, 2007 at 6:30pm in the upstairs St. Joseph’s Room. Rosary begins at 6:00 pm prior to the meeting.  Social Activities; card games, pool, visiting, and refreshments will follow the meeting (7:30pm).
